Act against the ACT and SAT
Do you need to add stress onto the easy, laid-back life of a high school schedule? Do you need a number that decides where you can and cannot go to college? Are you good at, "the nation’s most popular college entrance exams?" Well, the SAT and ACT are perfect for you!
The SAT and ACT are two college entrance exams that really show colleges what you are made of. Scared of all those real life problems that haunt the daily life of a college student? Fear not! Standardized testing has your back. With increasing competition and even harder questions, the SAT and ACT will guarantee you will not get accepted into the college of your dreams.
Standardized testing very effectively measures, "college and career readiness." However, the classes that are being offered to score high on these tests promote how to get a big number on your college application. Many students do not even know what the acronyms SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) and ACT (American College Testing) stand for! By preparing these students to perform well on the tests, colleges are well-suited to decide the future of applicants in a fair, well-designed admission process. This process is made much more efficient with these scores. With just a click of a button, a college admissions officer can eliminate the students who have failed to receive the desired scores. Brilliant.

The Scholastic Aptitude Test and the American College Testing are stupendous methods of determining the fate of students across the nation. Bits and bobs of talent may shine through these test scores, but applying this isn't as easy peazy lemon squeezy as we think; it's really tomatoes, really difficult tomatoes. As many students learned from the PSAT taken this year, the government needs to drink a different type of smoothie to get their mess that is standardized testing less messy.
I love your use of sarcasm and humor in this post, especially in the last paragraph. Your personal voice also really shines through. Overall a really great blog post!!

ReplyDeleteI like how your sarcastic tone contrasts with what these tests are believed to measure but also the sad truth of what these tests are used to determine. Well written!
